We must skin test all clients prior to a hair colour service or laser treatment to ensure you are not allergic to the key ingredients or treatment.

You will then need to have a skin test every 6 months.

It is a very simple process which can be carried out in the salon.

Reasons you would need a skin test:

• Your first time having colour at Innovation
• Laser treatment
• Your 6 month skin patch testing period has expired
• You have coloured your hair at home
• You have had a change in your medical history

The Allergy Alert Test must be carried out within 14 days and up to 48 hours before the colour is applied because it can take up to 48 hours for an allergic reaction to develop. If you cut corners, you risk missing a reaction.

Please contact the salon to book for a skin test. This will be applied behind the ear and will be valid up to 6 months unless you have had a tattoo, change in medication, have had Covid-19, or coloured your hair elsewhere within that time frame.
